No matter how good a band performs on stage, what the audience hears is greatly influenced by the quality of the sound reinforcement equipment and the abilities of the person running it. Rain is both pleased and proud to have its sound system, and lighting, provided by Ryan Green and his sound production company, Sonic View.

For each Rain performance, Ryan provides a fully contained P.A. and lighting system which requires a minimum of (2) 20-amp electrical circuits and includes the following:

  • (2) Mackie SA1530z Active Three-Way Loudspeakers
  • (2) Mackie SWA1801z Active 18" Subwoofers
  • (5) JBL EON15P-1 Active Loudspeakers (stage monitors)
  • Yamaha 01v96 Digital Mixing Console
  • Presonus DigiMax LT Lightpipe Preamp
  • Protools Recording Hardware/Software
  • Dell Inspiron 1501 AMD Turion™ 64 X2 Dual-Core Laptop
  • Elation Stage Setter 8 DMX Lighting Controler

The absence of amplifiers from the equipment list is due to the fact that the "active" speakers each contain their own built-in amp dedicated to and tuned to that individual speaker cabinet. This design concept provides maximum power with incredible accuracy throughout the sound spectrum.

Ryan has been with Rain since August 2006. He trained in sound production and reinforcement at The Recording Workshop in Ohio and has studied electronics at Wichita Technical Institute. Ryan and his wife Andrea reside in Wichita, Kansas.
